Cathy
Cathy has been a very consistent high performer for early drill on good sites for enormous dry matter yields. Exhibits good drought tolerance. Also performs well under film producing the highest of ME yields to maximise production output.
Cob Ripeness
Large well filled determinate cobs with large number of grain sites for maximum starch production. Cob held low on the plant. Early starch lay down. Cob ripening days after Lovely + 18
Maturity Group
FAO 215. Good maturity for favourable maize sites. Early grain maturity with extended harvesting window from green plants. Very even growth throughout the season from spring vigour to harvest maturity.
Quality and Digestibility
Good levels of ME and starch from mature grains on a longer season variety. Superb cobs, always well filled.
Yield
Sow at 38,000 - 45,000 seeds per acre (105,000 - 111,000 per ha.) to maximise output. Potential for huge dry matter yield at 30%DM. Excellent performance in MGA under film trials with highest yield and ME.
