ES Metronom
First listed in 2018 Metronom has proven itself for a few years now. Massive yields producing around 18.9 tonnes DM/ha in NIAB 3rd Cut Descriptive List. This variety has excellent disease resistance and standing power, very important for such a large plant. For best results drill on medium soils in very favourable regions.
Cob Ripeness
Very good cob ripeness for the maturity group. Potential for huge yields on the right land. Cob ripening days after Lovely + 22.
Maturity Group
FAO 225. Later maturing variety that makes full use of growing season to boost production. Suitable for the best maize regions.
Quality and Digestibility
Good cob on big plant with strong stay green characteristics. High yield and quality combine to produce superior silage.
Yield
Sow at 38,000 - 42,500 seeds per acre (94,000 - 105,000 seeds/ha.) to maximise output. Tested in NIAB 3rd cut trials where long season varieties (FAO 220+) have been tested on the best sites.
